The Great Slate

The 2nd annual team competition, The Great Slate, will take place on Saturday May 17th. Teams will consist of 4 people of any gender. There will be 3 gender options for weights and reps – these options are male, Non-Binary, and Female and teams can be made up of any compbination of genders.

During the online registration process, each athlete will have to select male or female. Unfortunatley Competition Corner does not currently hace a non-binary gender field for selection. If you are a non-binary athlete please email us to let us know which team you are on. Thank you for taking this extra step!

There will be scaling options for each workout but there is only 1 division. This means that if a team needs to scale a workout they will place below any team that does the workout RX and will be ranked accordingly among the teams that also scales the workout.

Push It! (Event 1)

12 Minute AMRAP

  • 10/9/8 Cal Row
  • 10 Thrusters 95/80/65 (synchronized)
  • Athletes 1 & 2 will go at the same time and will each complete 1 full round. Once both athletes finish a full round Athletes 3 & 4 will complete a full round. This pattern will continue for 12 Minutes.
  • Scale

    • 10 Thrusters 45/40/35

It’s a Party (Event 2)

8 Minute EMOM

  • 1 Rep Clean (:30 window)
  • Each athlete will have two attempts
  • Athletes may lift in any order
  • Every Minute 1 Athlete will have a 30 second window to make a lift. Multiple attempts may be performed but once you attempt a lift the weight can not be adjusted. There will be 30 seconds to adjust weights for the next lift. 
  • There will be a calculation performed to adjust Male and Non-binary athlete scores.
  • No Scaled option

Ninja Rap (Event 3)

In 4 Minutes

  • Max Pull Ups
  • While one athlete is performing pull ups 2 athletes will be completing a Goblet Hold and one athlete will be resting. Athletes may switch at any time. No minimum requirements.
  • Scaled option – Max Ring Rows

In 5 Minutes

  • Max GHD Sit Ups
  • While one athlete is performing GHDSUs 2 athletes will be completing a DB Suitcase Carry Hold and one athlete will be resting. Athletes may switch at any time. No minimum requirements.
  • Scaled option – Abmat Sit Ups  

In 6 Minutes

  • Max Distance Walking Lunge
  • Two athletes will be lunging together for 3 minutes while two athletes aree holding a dumbbell overhead. At 3 minutes the athletes lunging and the athletes performing the Hold will switch for the last 3 minutes. 
  • No scaled option

Dumbbell Weights – 50/40/35

Scaled DB weights – 35/25/20

Put Yo Hood Up (Event 4)

  • For Time – You go, then you go, then you go, then I go! (15 Minute Cap)
  • 40 DB Snatch 50/40/35
  • 20 Lateral Burpees over the DB
  • 10/9/8 Cal Echo Bike
  • Athlete 1 will complete the full workout, then athlete 2, then athlete 3, then athlete 4.
  • 1 athlete working at a time. Movements must be done in order. 
  • DB Snatches are alternating.
  • Burpees are a 2 foot take off and a 2 foot land when jumping over the dumbbell. You may step into and out of the burpee.

Scaled Option

  • DB Snatch 35/25/20
  • Step over the Dumbbell for the burpees 

Carry On (Floater)

  • Sand Bag Carry – Relay
  • How far? How much weight? This will be announced Saturday morning!
  • This is a floater workout and can be completed at anytime throughout the day.
