Coach

Tanner Adams (She/Her)

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA and moved to the Bay Area where I played collegiate basketball at Sonoma State University. I spent several more years down there and had different opportunities to coach basketball at the college level, while also gaining experience working with at-risk youth and families through the foster care system. I have a huge passion for helping people build up their confidence and self-esteem, especially through physical activity and fitness.

I found Slate when I moved back to Seattle in the summer of 2020. I just started my Functional Fitness journey and found that Slate’s community oriented environment felt like a safe space to learn new athletic movements, ask questions, and build lasting relationships. I love functional fitness because it is inspiring to see what my body is capable of achieving!

I coach because I love to build up others. Whether I am coaching youth basketball or adults at Slate, it is a privilege to be part of every athlete’s journey in reaching their goals. I take pride in being an educator and being a part of so many lives!
I know every U.S state capital by heart. Feel free to test me!
I am on a warm and sunny beach.
