My name is Riley Hughes (she/her). I have been doing CrossFit since 2015 after I graduated from college and needed a new athletic outlet (former collegiate softball athlete). I enjoy CrossFit and the varied movements and challenges it involves, but more than that I have valued the communities I have found at CrossFit gyms I have been to over the years and Slate is no exception. After moving away from Seattle for 11 years for school/work, I returned home and found Slate and am so grateful to have found such a solid community and fitness environment. When I’m not working out at Slate, I enjoy cooking/baking, reading, hiking/camping, and finding new fun coffee/food places around Seattle (let me know if you have recs!).
I love being able to help people understand how to move their bodies efficiently and safely to meet their health and fitness goals.
I went to Clown Camp when I was a kid (you may have questions, I don’t have a lot of answers…).
Someone tells me a cue I gave them helped them move better (or if someone gives me food).
